"The Acres, at Their Most Green . . . "

Brent Ridge and Josh Kilmer-Purcell
(Ben Hoffmann for Vanity Fair)

Greetings,

Seriously, is anyone else watching "The Fabulous Beekman Boys" on Planet Green? Just imagine. A reality show. Two great guys. Leave their jobs in the city. Buy a farm in upstate New York.

And 'action . . . '

Maybe it's because I grew up on a farm. Maybe it's because the 'fish out of water' concept can be quite entertaining. Maybe it's because their llama "Polka Spot" has its own facebook page.

Or maybe it's because it just hilarious . . . and heart warming . . . it all just delights me.

And you can take some of the magic home by shopping at - Beekman 1802 - Goat's milk soap, Cheese, Heirloom Linens, Stationery . . .

You can also find episodes on iTunes.

cheers,
tartanscot

Haven't seen it yet but the commercials look hilarious! My brother and I are always having a comedy of errors trying our hand at farming. Will have to catch it soon. -The Arkansan Anglophile

I have taken this in and the results of my notetaking is that this show is the mod version of Grant Woods pictorial canvas!!

Love it; look at those lambs, could it pull you in anymore. My fav was the mudfight in the pigpen!

I am afraid I am adding this to my ever growing reality show list.

I caught the tail end of the show one day and ended up tivoing the series so my husband could watch too.The scene where Josh has to wear the William Beekman costume in town was hysterical. William is actually one of my great grandfathers on my fathers side so of course it seemed especially funny to me.

Oh I just found their blog, I want a set of their goat milk soaps like crazy! Actually I just want to be a woman version of them :) They are so cute!
Scot-
We have really been enjoying the show! What a beautiful setting...I may have taken up farming if I knew it would look like that!
We even ordered some of the soap (we got the soaps of the year and started using "July") I guess we'll be ordering cheese next.

I hope this finds you well!

Best,
