"Binge Watching the Weekend . . . "

Greetings,

Since we're all faced with a long, relaxing weekend with either a house full of guests to entertain or a house finally empty of guests from Thursday . . . so, in honour of either of those situations, I come offering hours and hours of entertainment for you and your handy, dandy television.  If you're on the hunt for something to binge-watch this weekend, here are a few of my recent favourites . . .

The Durrells in Corfu.  A glamorous travelogue this is NOT.  But, if you're looking for a wee getaway to the Greek Isles - with a healthy dose of British wit - this is going to be perfect.

W1A - a simple workplace comedy set at the BBC Headquarters in London (postcode W1A) - equal parts whimsy, nonsense, and charm - all set at a break-neck pace.

Alias Grace - something a bit more long-form . . . and certainly much, much darker.  The tale, set in Canada, tells the story of a notorious murderer . . . or maybe not.  Lyrically told and beautifully acted.  It's compelling and confusing - in equal measure.

Crown - And finally, just in case you need to catch-up before season 2 starts in a few weeks . . . the gloriously produced "Crown" brings the early days of Elizabeth II's rise to the British throne into glorious view.

What are your new favouites?  Leave me a note in the comments and I'll try to tune in!

Cheers,
Scot

I love "Grand Designs" on Netflix. Apparently the UK is filled with out of the ordinary people who want to build an out of the ordinary house. It's great fun!
