"Welcome to Camp Citron . . . "
Camp Citron
(photography by Marco Ricca)
Greetings,
I wanted to share a few images from our recently completed Mudroom for the 2015 Hampton Designer Showhouse sponsored by Traditional Home to benefit Southampton Hospital. My aim was to create something bright and fresh - taking the concept of a vintage adirondack porch but pass it through a super-saturated "instagram filter" to bring the colours and accessories clearly into the present day.
"Esteemed Designer Scot Meacham Wood of Scot Meacham Wood Design is
delighted to present Camp Citron, a vibrant, athletic-inspired mud room
at Traditional Home's 2015 Hampton Designer Showhouse. Known for his
fresh take on traditional design, Scot has reimagined a classic
Adirondack vacation style through a Pop Art-inspired lens."
And here I am - lounging at Camp Citron! |
A big "thank you" goes out to Palecek (for the fantastic "Presidents Chairs"), Brunschswig & Fils though Lee Jofa (for the perfect chinoiserie textiles), Stark Carpet, Gracious Home of New York (for the amazing accessories!), Mecox Garden, and REI Sporting Goods.
I would especially like to thank James Bacchi of ArtHaus San Francisco for working with me to curate this marvelous collection of artwork. Patter Hellstrom's "Hungry Ghost Dream" was the perfect abstract piece to anchor the entire room. I love its movement and energy - and the colours were perfect for the space. Jhina Alvarado's "Sailboat" and "Piggy-back Ride" were an early choice for the room. I find their ghostly nostalgia incredibly compelling.
"The mud room’s bold color palette reflects the acid yellow and bright red of its
tartan accessories, selected from the designer’s own textile and home decor
collection, Scot Meacham Wood Home, launching this fall. Sporting goods
such as an antique croquet set and bespoke kayaks imbue the space
with a lively, adventurous feel."

We also included a sneak peek at our Scot Meacham Wood Home
collection of textiles in the room as well. The acidic yellow "Meacham Tartan"
and the classic red "Drew Tartan" will be available this fall.
If you are in the Hamptons this month - please plan a day to visit the showhouse. For more information about the house - click HERE.
Cheers,
