"Defeating Monica . . . "

Good morning faithful reader,

My apologies for going 'radio silent' for the last few days. I've been working on a project here at the house again. There seem to be no end of 'projects' here at the house. lol.

The new enemy is my "Monica Closet" - that closet where everything that doesn't go anywhere else seems to land and fester. Mine is the second walk-in that's back in my study (yes, I have two walk-in closets here in San Francisco. don't hate me). It's basically used to store non-season clothing, holiday items, and various kinds a design debris. And because it's not in regular use, it tends to get out of hand quickly. But, I will defeat Monica before the weekend is done. Oh, and maybe the linen closet as well. lol.

It has been a few days, and it's beginning to shape up . . . but, I need another quick trip to The Container Store tonight after work to get more supplies . . .

on task,
tartanscot

(disclaimer: my closet is not NEARLY as bad as Monica's. Seriously, that's messed up!)

If you only saw what my Monica basement looked like! How I so want it to look like Martha's new digs! One day, one day, one day...

The precious lady I blogged about today (Pearls & Grace) has a picture of her children's closet on her blog. I almost died! She even used a board folder for the blankets. It would just kill you!

Perfection: it is a disease--and I've got it!
(I think you do too! lol!!)

Now when do I get a peak at the project going on at your house? I'm itching! I just can't wait. You are so inspiring!
you'll need to wait a few more days.
I tend to follow one of the basic tenants of closet re-organization.

step one. remove all crap from aforementioned closet.

step two. throw at least half of aforementioned crap away.

step three. replace remaining crap in existing closet in such a way as to be pretty. and useful.

I'm somewhere between steps two and three. but, safely home from the Container Store with new toys !

My wee house only has two closets and they're both on the 2nd floor. It's always an adventure trying to store things.
San Francisco is notorious for its horrid storage issues. I'm really quite lucky to have the space that I have.
